HNET.gg & the CO2 footprint
I have been developing the HNET project for 3 years now. What many people don't know, but I would like to share, is one aspect that I take into account in the development. The CO2 footprint. The project runs in the cloud so as not to block resources when they are not needed. At the same time, preference is given to locations that have a CO2-neutral balance through the use of alternative energy sources. The data centre in Finland, for example, where most of the services are running.
I have calculated the current annual footprint for you using public CO2 calculators. Running all of HNET's services for an entire year is equivalent to driving 140km in a petrol-powered car. In the next months it will be even less, I have an idea how to reduce the usage of the processors and still offer similar performance.
